Answer: Before connecting a drill press to a power source be sure that the voltage supply is the same as that specified on the nameplate of the tool. • When operating the drill press, use safety equipment including safety goggles or shield, ear protection and protective clothing including safety gloves.
• If the operation causes dust, use a dust mask.
• Ensure that the lighting is adequate.
• Keep the area free of tripping hazards.
• Do not let anyone under the age of 18 years operate this tool.
• Never use your hands to remove dust, chips or waste close by the drill bit.
• Rags, cloths, cord and string and the like should never be left around the work area.
• If you are interrupted when operating the drill, complete the process and switch off before looking up.
• Periodically check that all nuts, bolts and other fixings are properly tightened.
