The Delta 17-950 L 16.5-Inches TwinLaser Crosshair Drill Press is an easy to install and operate drill press with fully adjustable laser pod, flexible lamp, tilting table, adjustable, locking depth stop, rack and pinion table raising/lowering mechanism and more. Once assembled, the drill so far seems to operate smoothly. Changing speeds is very easy. It starts out simply enough, with a six-inch distance between chuck center and column, letting you drill the center of a 16.5-inch board. The salient feature includes an industrial induction motor for long-lasting, smooth performance along with three-spoke pilot wheel for operator convenience.
There's a wide range of spindle speeds to use for whatever material you're drilling, be it wood, metal or plastic, all accessed by slipping the belt onto the appropriate set of pulleys under the top cover. It's a nice, sturdy press that really doesn't need to be bolted down to your workbench but can be if you prefer. I am overall satisfied with the tool and would recommend it. |
